STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless Steel is the modern material to meet the demands of our times. Easy to take care of and hard-wearing as well as exceptionally durable. We use V2A (304) in best quality and solid dimensions for our Stainless Steel frames. Stainless Steel is an iron alloy in which the resistance to corrosion is increased through the addition of chrome and nickel. It does not stain, corrode or rust as easily as ordinary steel, but it is not 100% stain or rust proof. Surface oxidization deposits are accelerated by chlorine and air-borne chemicals but do not affect the durability of the furniture. Chlorine and salty sea air are Stainless Steel's biggest enemy and can cause a type of corrosion that is known as pitting. For that reason, it is recommended that in locations near the sea the metal should be Electro-Polished where optional.

DEEP CLEANING

Stainless steel does show signs of staining and brown discoloration – commonly known as “tea staining” on the surface of products over time and is not rusted. Tea staining does not affect the structural integrity or the longevity of the products and can be controlled. Regular cleaning using stainless steel cleaner or mild abrasive cleaner and warm soapy water is necessary. Gently scrub in direction that corresponds to the grinding direction to remove any oxidisation and restores the metal’s natural glossy finish in seconds. Do not use scourging agents or other cleaning tools that could cause scratches on the Stainless steel surface and do not leave chemicals on the surface other than stainless steel care products.

MAINTENANCE

Minor scratches can generally be removed by rubbing with a scouring pad in the direction of the grain. It is recommended to carry out cleaning more frequently in extreme coastal locations or if the steel is regularly subjected to water.
